What is the Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Ukraine?
Located in the center of Kiev, Hagia Sophia is one of the landmark buildings in Kiev. In Greek, Sophia means intelligence and wisdom, and Prince Ross yaroslav of Kiev is called a wise man. He brought the Christian Orthodox Sect to Ukraine, and people are still praying for him as a capable man, hence the name of the church. The church building belongs to the ancient Russian period in Kiev and was the religious, political and cultural center at that time. 1667 A fire destroyed the Sofia Cathedral with wooden structure, and reconstruction began two years later. Sophia church is 37 meters long, 55 meters wide and 29 meters high. It has 13 domes and is pink and lead when completed. There is also an ancient coin museum in the church.
