Dongguan special snacks

Dongguan cuisine, one of the eight major cuisines in China, has Lingnan regional characteristics and belongs to Cantonese cuisine. Among them, the most famous snacks in Dongguan are Houjie roasted rice noodles and Sanhe banquet.

Houjie Roasted Goose Powder: the traditional food of Dongguan Birthday Banquet, which means long life. The most famous roast goose in Dongguan is Houjie, of course. The most exquisite thing is a delicious soup, which needs to be cooked with whole chicken, large pieces of meat and bones, and many special herbs and spices. When eating, blanch Seto powder in hot water and put it into a bowl, then add a tablespoon of broth, and spread a layer of crispy roast goose on the noodles. Then the delicious soup is soaked with the smell of roasted goose, which is more delicious and attractive.

The water towns in Dongguan mainly grow rice. At the turn of summer and autumn every year, the flowers are overflowing and the fragrance is golden. In this season, insects, carp and sparrows that feed on flowers and rice all grow fat and tender. People catch insects, carp and sparrows, cook and entertain guests, commonly known as the Three Rivers Banquet.
