What is the main study of psychology?

The study of psychology includes two main aspects: from a small aspect, it studies how human mental activity occurs and develops, and the laws of its occurrence and development; from a large aspect, it also studies the history of psychological development of the whole human race.

Psychologists divide human mental activity into mental process and personality psychology. Mental process includes cognitive process, emotional process and volitional process, which are closely connected and mutually constrained. Mental process is the basis of personality psychology, at the same time personality psychology and constraints on the development of mental process.

Psychological activity is a very complex phenomenon, which includes external behavior and internal psychological process. The outward behavior is the behavior that we can observe, while the implicit mental process is the mental activity that we cannot see.

Of course, psychology does not only study these, it also includes the study of some physiological processes, such as the nervous system, especially brain mechanisms and endocrine. In addition, psychology has also conducted a lot of research on animal psychology, the main purpose is to y understand and predict the laws of human psychological occurrence and development.
