Fables about Chinese New Year

1. Su Wu shepherds the sheep - the story of the ambassador and the 19-year "shepherd".

After the establishment of the Han Dynasty, it was constantly threatened by the Xiongnu in the north. The Xiongnu's intrusion annoyed Emperor Wu of Han. He sent his generals Wei Qing and Huo Daizi to crusade against

the Xiongnu many times. Each time the Xiong Nu was defeated, it sent envoys to beg for peace. For the sake of friendship between the two sides, the Emperor of the Han Dynasty often sent emissaries. But the Xiongnu often used excuses to detain the Han envoys.

Su Wu was sent to Xiongnu as an envoy by Emperor Wu of Han. On the steppe, the Xiongnu monarch feasted the Han envoys. But due to a change of heart, Su Wu was interrogated as a prisoner. In order to preserve his dignity, Su Wu

drew his sword and wiped it on his neck.

After Su Wu's sword wound healed, the Xiongnu monarch tried to persuade him to surrender. Su Wu was not willing to do so. He was locked in the cellar without food and water, and in the winter months, he quenched his thirst with

snow, and tore off the fur from his jacket to feed his hunger. He was exiled to the North Sea to herd sheep. From then on, he was accompanied by sheep, dialog with sheep; accompanied by cold, dialog with the grassland

.

This life of sheep herding lasted for 19 years. Su Wu fought against his fate with tenacity. In 85 A.D., when the death of the Xiong Nu monarch led to civil unrest, the new monarch sent an envoy

to the Han Dynasty to seek peace. Emperor Zhao of Han sent an envoy to bring Su Wu back.

The story of Su Wu shepherding the sheep is like that famous song, whimpering with sad beauty.

2. The fate from slave to prime minister exchanged for five rams' skins - the story of Bailey Xi.

This story happened in Nanyang. There was a man named Baili Xi, who was poor as a teenager and then wandered around. In the seventh century BC, when Duke Xian of Jin destroyed Yu, he captured the Duke of Yu and his

dafiosos Jing Bo and Thyi Li Xi, and accompanied them to Qin as Mu Ji's daughters.

Unable to bear the life of slaves, Bai Li Xi fled to Wan (Nanyang) and was captured by the Chu people. Duke Mu of Qin learned of this and ransomed him with five rams' skins. Thus, Bai Li Xi

went from slave to prime minister. With his assistance, Qin opened up thousands of miles of land and dominated the Western Rong. When he died, the men and women of Qin were sad and weeping, the children did not sing, and those who worked did not

make a sound.

3. Fairy tale classic - the story of the Wolf and the Lamb.

My guess is that out of a hundred children, ninety-nine grew up listening to the fairy tale of The Wolf and the Little Lamb. Whether Chinese or foreign, whether urban or rural

village; whether black or white, whether ancient or modern; whether boy or girl, whether good or bad ...... the fairy tale of "The Wolf and the Lamb" has traveled the world through word of mouth. Despite the fact that the story is famous, it has been passed down through different languages and nationalities, and various versions have been interpreted in a variety of ways.

This is the original Wolf and the Lamb from Aesop's Fables.

A lamb was drinking by the river, and when the wolf saw it, he thought, "How can I eat this lamb rightfully?

So, he came up with a way, he ran upstream, and viciously complained that the lamb stirred the river muddy, so that he could not drink the water. The lamb replied, "I

only stand by the river to drink, and besides, I am downstream, so surely I won't muddy the water upstream." Seeing that this plan would not work, the wolf added, "My father was scolded by you last year." The little

sheep said, "I wasn't even born then. The wolf said to the little sheep, "No matter how you argue, I will not let you go anyway."

This shows that any justifiable defense is ineffective against the wicked.

4. The story of the five sheep and the city of Canton.

There is a statue of five rams on Yuexiu Mountain in Guangzhou, which seems to tell people the origin of "Sheep City". The ram in the center is holding the ears of grain in its mouth, which means Guangzhou is short for "Sui"

. These five sheep head south, as if to tell visitors a beautiful story.

The story is called "The Five Immortals Give the Valley". At the end of the Zhou Dynasty, Guangzhou had thousands of miles of bare land and no grain harvest. The officials were like wolves and tigers, pressing for rents and taxes. A young man's father was arrested

and sent to prison, where he was to be fed to the sharks if he failed to pay the tax in three days. The young man cried out like an ancient ape, weeping in the night and crying in the sky. His cries alarmed the five old emperors

jun. He sent five messengers to rescue him. The eastern messenger wore a green dress and rode on a green sheep; the northern messenger wore a black dress and rode on a black sheep; the southern messenger wore a red

dress and rode on a red sheep; the western messenger wore a white dress and rode on a white sheep; and the central messenger wore a yellow dress and rode on a yellow sheep. They came to earth with five-colored ears of grain in each of their hands.

The messengers of the five directions said to the weeping youth, "You grieve for your father, weep for the people, are filial to your dear ones, worry about the country and the people, and your emotions move heaven." When he had said this, he gave

the ears of grain in his hand to the young man; and he instructed him to plant the grain in the ground this night, and to water and fertilize it, so that he could harvest the grain at daybreak.

The gods and goddesses put their palms together and wished: "Southeast, West, North, West, North and South, all over the world with the same; sprinkle a thousand particles today, wish to live ten square people!"

All the gods and goddesses have joined hands to wish for the same, and now they have sprinkled thousands of particles, wishing to live in ten places.

The young man planted the grains in the night as the five immortals said, and really harvested a golden crop by the dawn of the next day.

Having the grain saved his father. Five Immortals once again came to earth to teach his father and son to plant in the spring and harvest in the fall. The officials heard about it and came like wolves. The Five Immortals rose up in the air, and because they were in a hurry

, they left the Five Immortals sheep on the ground. The official went to catch the sheep, and the Five Square God Sheep turned into five stone sheep.

5, wonderful playback - the world famous story of a beautiful girl and goat.

There is a classic image in Notre Dame de Paris by the great French writer Victor Hugo, the founding work of Romantic literature in the 19th century, that makes it unforgettable.

There is a girl dancing in the square on the riverbank. Is this girl a fairy or an angel? She is like an extraordinary spirit! The poet Grandgoire thought to himself, "Truly

, she is a fire spirit, a mountain nymph, a goddess, the sacrificial daughter of the goddess of wine on Mount Mannerus!"

This handsome 16-year-old Esmeralda stopped after her dance, and then a beautiful little goat performed a magic trick. This little goat had a beautiful name

"Jali", was white and very smart. The horns on its head and the feet on its legs were gold-colored. It also wore a gold-plated necklace around its neck.

The beautiful maiden handed the tambourine to the goat and asked what month it was. The goat raises its front foot and taps it on the drum. It is indeed January. The audience applauds

. The young girl asks what day it is. The goat taps six times on the drum with its little golden feet. The maiden asks what time it is, and the goat knocks seven times. And the goat acted as the captain of the city's defense hand cannon squad

and brought to life the look of greed and falsehood. And the goats also did the sermon of the church court complainant under the command of the maiden, and imitated the

movement, the voice, and the gesture in a marvelous manner.

7, "Aesop's Fables" - a mysterious story box full of sheep.

Aesop's Fables is rumored to have been written by a freed slave in the 6th century BC who was later killed by a fall. There are countless stories about sheep in the book. Like

The Fox and the Goat in the Well, The Little Goat and the Blowing Wolf, The Well-Fed Wolf and the Goat, The Shepherd and the Sheep, The Bull and the Wild Goat,

The Wolf, the Sheep and the Ram, The Shepherd and the Dog, The Goat and the Shepherd, The Goat and the Wolf Standing on the Roof, The She-Goat and the Grapevine, and The Raven and the Goat. and so on. It seems that the goat plays the leading role in the fable.

The story of The Lying Goat Herder, told by a kindergarten aunt, may be unforgettable for a lifetime. There was a goat herder who drove his flock of sheep to graze far away

from his village. He was always a liar and a joker, and often called out loudly to the village people for help, falsely claiming that wolves had come to attack his flock. At the beginning of two or three times, the village people were frightened

panicked immediately ran to help him, but instead of being laughed at by him, so he had to walk back in dismay. Later, one day, the wolf really came, scurried into the flock, a big bite to kill. The shepherd boy

cried out for help to the village people, who thought he was lying and joking as usual, and no one paid any attention to him. As a result, all his sheep were eaten by wolves.

This story shows that those who often tell lies, even if they tell the truth one day, no one will believe them.

As we enter the Year of the Sheep, we read sheep poems, sing sheep songs, and listen to sheep stories, and our mood will get better and better. We wish people good luck in the Year of the Sheep.
