However, the number of anesthesiologists in China is only 85,000, and almost all hospitals do not have enough anesthesiologists. Therefore, the shortage of anesthesiologists is one of the reasons for the low coverage of painless delivery.

Old traditional consciousness and insufficient publicity are also the reasons for the low coverage rate of painless delivery. In some remote rural areas of China, people's traditional consciousness will think that giving birth is painful and will not take any measures to alleviate the pain of childbirth. Some people mistakenly think that narcotic drugs will have a bad effect on the fetus and it will cost some money. In China, even in some cities, the propaganda of painless delivery is not very strong, and most people still choose natural delivery in their minds.

In fact, painless delivery is a mature and safe technology, and there will be no sequelae to the mother and fetus. Most importantly, painless delivery can greatly alleviate the pain of parturient, which embodies humanistic care. However, there is still a long way to go to popularize painless delivery in China.
