How to build a good burning kang in Northeast China
The kang consists of three parts: the stove, the body of the kang and the chimney.
The following construction method is better;
Inside the kang, there is a brick wall between the kang, a flue in the wall between the kang, covered with a relatively flat stone plate, covered with mud to touch the mud, and then the mud dries on the kang mat and can be used. It is also possible to add an exhaust fan above the chimney so that it is not difficult to exhaust the smoke when it is burning on a rainy day.
The kang has a stove and a smoke outlet. The stove is used to burn firewood, and the smoke and hot air from the firewood passes through the wall between the kangs and heats up the stone slabs above it, generating heat in the kang. The smoke is finally discharged outside through the chimney from the smoke outlet of the kang.
