What kind of song is "Spring in the North"?

"Spring in the North" is a Japanese folk song that was composed in 1977 and became popular throughout Japan a year later. It is a song of homesickness, and was popular at a time when there were many young people in Japan who left the northern countryside in order to go to school or to make a living. The original Japanese version was sung by the famous singer-songwriter Masao Sen, and although the song has been covered by a number of singers in Japan, such as Yasuro Oizumi and Jiro Atsumi, the original was sung by Masao Sen.

Background of the song

A 2010 report by Asahi Shimbun's veteran reporter Chihiro Ito reveals a lot about the song's creation, according to the newspaper Shin Wa Kyo Newspaper. First of all, it is generally believed that what is sung in "Spring in the North" is the northern flavor of the Tohoku region of Japan or Hokkaido. In fact, it is not at all. It is the scenery of Nagano Prefecture in the central region of Japan. In Nagano Prefecture, at the foot of Mt. Kitayatake, at an altitude of 1,500 meters, the Yachiho Plateau is home to a large birch forest, which is said to be "the most beautiful birch forest in Asia," with over one million birch trees. Magnolias, which bloom the earliest in the spring, grow in small shrines in the countryside. In the first month of 1977, lyricist Hiroshi Iide was commissioned by a record company to write a song for a male singer, Masao Sen. At the time, he was advertising his hometown of Iwate Prefecture on television, and the title of the song, "Spring in the North," was decided upon to emphasize the northern coloring that he possessed. However, Inoue had never been to Iwate Prefecture, but he thought that Nagano Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture were not that far apart, both being areas of severe cold, and that the longing for spring was very much the same, and naturally recalled the countryside where he had spent his childhood: when the north wind blowing down from Mt. Yatsugatake suddenly changed to a south wind, magnolias bloomed with large flowers in the shrine, and waterwheel huts in the birch forests and small bridges made of round logs floated out in the morning mist ....... All of this was naturally transformed into the lyrics of Inoue's writing. He also recalled that after he came to Tokyo to study at the university, he saw that his classmates' dormitories contained special products from the countryside sent by their mothers. Iide's father had died young, and he had to rely on his older brother, who worked in Osaka, to send him money for his living expenses, so he couldn't help but imagine that if his father were still alive, he and his brother would be sitting in front of the fireplace together, drinking in silence. The thousands of thoughts about his hometown and his relatives were naturally translated into lyrics. After writing the lyrics, Iide went to the home of composer Minoru Endo, who also lived in Tokyo. After reading the lyrics while standing in the hallway, Endo told him, "You can wait for a while with a glass of whiskey." With that said, Endo took the lyrics and went up to the 2nd floor. Unexpectedly, only 5 minutes later, Endo walked downstairs. Inoue thought that Endo had forgotten something, but Endo told him, "The composition of the tune is finished!" Later, in his book, "The Source of Happiness," Endo described those five minutes as follows, "The spring scenery of Niigata, my hometown, vividly appeared in my mind." When he was a child, his family was poor, and snowflakes would blow into the house late at night, landing on his pillow and making him cry from the cold. That's why the joy of welcoming spring flowers and a blue sky was so strong. Because of this experience, the song was written in one take, but the lyrics were changed from "Spring in the North" to "Spring Days in the North, Ah, Spring Days in the North" to emphasize the joy of welcoming spring. In addition, the phrase "My hometown, my hometown, I want to go back to your arms" has been changed to "My hometown, my hometown, when can I go back to your arms", which changes the will to go back to the hometown to the wish to go back to the hometown, highlighting the melancholy mood of wanting to return to the hometown when it is actually impossible to do so, and enhancing the feeling of melancholy. This emphasizes the feeling of despondency and enhances the sense of reality. Immediately, they called Chichiro, played the piano, and asked him to try the song. As he sang, Chishio's mind was filled with images of the people he had seen in his hometown of Iwate, dressed in wrinkled trench coats. This is how he sang the song of his hometown, wearing a wrinkled trench coat, in spite of the objections. At that time, Japan's economy was still growing, and Japan's migrant workers were basically from Niigata and other northeastern areas, and these were people who were particularly capable of hard work and endurance. They saw themselves in the song and heard what they wanted to say but didn't, and the song caught fire. By 1979, five million copies of the record had been sold, and the song became the national anthem of Japan. The song also traveled beyond the borders of Japan, and in 1988, mainland China named it "the most familiar foreign song of the past 10 years". The song has also been sung in Thailand, Mongolia, India, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hawaii, and Brazil, and has become a favorite song of 1.5 billion people.

Edit Chinese Lyrics

1, Jiang Dawei Version

Tingting white birch, long blue sky, slight south wind, magnolia blossoms bloomed on the hillock, the spring of the north country, ah, the spring of the north country has come. The city does not know the season change, do not know the season has changed. Mom is still sending parcels, sending cold clothes to protect the winter. My hometown, my hometown, when can I return to your arms. The snow is melting, the stream is murmuring, the wooden bridge is crossing itself, the buds are on the larch, the spring in the north country, the spring in the north country has come. Although we already love each other inwardly, so far has not yet spit out true love. It's been five years since we parted ways, and my girl is at peace. My hometown, my hometown, when can I return to your arms. Dui Tang bushes, fog, waterwheel hut quiet, came bursts of children's songs, the north of the spring ah, the north of the spring has come. The brother of the family is like the old father, a pair of silent people, can be idle and worry about the wine, occasionally relative to drink a few cups. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to get a good deal on a new product, but I'm sure you're going to be able to get a good deal on a new product.

2, Teresa Teng version ("Under the Banyan Tree")

I thank you from the bottom of my heart

a care and affection

If there is no you

give me the nourishment of love

My life will lose its meaning

We are in the spring breeze intoxicated and floating

Mid-summer nights of the drizzly

Ling listen to the autumn bugs it gently rain

There is a lot of love for you. Ling listen to the autumn bugs it gently in the

Northern Spring Score

The murmur of icy snowflakes drifting all over the ground

My ordinary years

have a you

looks full of vigor

My heartfelt thanks to you

Let me forget about my troubles and worries

If there is no you

Give me encouragement and Courage

My life would be meaningless

We were intoxicated in the spring breeze

Sheer rain on a midsummer's night

Ling listen to the autumn bugs it gently in

Messy snowflakes drifted all over the ground

My ordinary years

With a you

Looking vibrant

3, The rain in my hometown under the banyan tree in Andy Lau's version of Spring in the North

The green birches, the blue sky, the breeze from the south, the magnolias blooming on the hillocks, the spring days in the North, ah, the spring days in the North have arrived, the city doesn't know that the seasons are changing, doesn't know that the seasons are changing, my mother still sends me packages to bring me clothes to protect myself against the harsh winters, hometown, hometown, my hometown, when can I come back to your embrace, a banyan tree by the side of the road, is the place I miss, clear skies, cool winds, and the intoxicating scent of green grass, and you're so happy to be here. The scent of green grass is intoxicating, and we go around the bends of the path, watching the sun go down on the lover's hill, and the evening sun shines on your face, and we can't stop talking about our love. Ah, do you remember under the banyan tree? Do you remember the scent of green grass? A letter from home, a voice of concern, a word of commonplace kindness, makes me feel happy, and my heart is full of warmth, as if I were in the springtime sunshine and recalled the old swallows in front of my family's eaves, and went back to my family home, and I wrote in my letter of the rain of my hometown, and the drizzles of fine rain talk about my childhood, and asked if I ever remembered the old swallows. The rain of my hometown.

4. Ye Qitian's version

The sky is clear, the clouds are white, and the wind is blowing, reminding me of the springtime in my hometown, when the mountains are filled with oil flowers and the scent is beautiful, and I have been away for five years now, and I am depressed, and my heart is empty. The spring of another year is over, but it's really rare, and my lovely companion is telling me to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, to go back, hogan outlet online, to go back, hogan outlet online. Rain in my hometown A letter from home A voice of concern An ordinary word of sympathy makes me feel happy My heart is full of warmth It's as if I'm in the spring sunshine I can't forget the time when I rode on my father's back like a cowherd Nursery rhymes are sung to make the whole family happy The rain in my hometown drips and drips and talks about my childhood I ask if I've ever remembered my old swallows My home town has gone away My father's heart My mother's heart Full of kindly concern My eyes are full of apologies My heart is full of apologies I can't see the rain that I like in the busy city I'm reminded of my home with the old swallows in front of my house The nursery rhyme I wrote about the rain in my hometown in a long and happy letter I asked if I remembered the old swallows when I was a child I asked if I remembered the old swallows when I was a child I flew away from my hometown My father's heart, my mother's will, was full of kind concern In my eyes, my heart was full of apologies I couldn't see my favorite rain in the busy city It's hard to forget that I was just like the cowherd riding on my father's back Nursery rhymes sang of the family's joy I remembered my mother's smile fondly I remembered the dripping rain when I was a child I asked if I remembered the old swallows when I flew away from my hometown
