What are the Taoist schools?
Quanzhen Sect, also known as Quanzhen Sect, is one of the two major schools of Taoism alongside Zheng Zheng. Wang Zhongyang (see article) was founded in the Jin Dynasty, and advocated the integration of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, that is, "the integration of the three religions, the clarity of mind and the uniqueness of truth", with Tao Te Ching, Neijing, Filial Piety Ching, Xin Jing and Fifteen Theories on Quanzhen Education as the main classics.
2. Maoshan School
In the fifth year of Emperor Hanyuan (44 BC), Mao Ying, three brothers of Maojia in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province, and his younger brother devoted themselves to collecting herbs and making an alchemy in Maoshan to help the world and save the people. They are called the founders of Maoshan Taoism, and the three brothers of Maojia learned from Maoshan and started Maoshan Taoism. Later, Tao Hongjing founded the Maoshan School of Taoism. Huang Tingjing is an important classic of the Maoshan School, and it is also the homework of Quanzhen Daoism School in later generations.
Tao Hongjing and his disciples operated in Maoshan for decades, which made Maoshan the center of Shangqing school, so later generations also called Shangqing school "Maoshan school". His book True Letters Patent records the teaching history of Maoshan Taoism, with more than 100 people.
3. Lingbao School
Lingbao School, also known as Gezaozong and Gejiadao, is a Taoist school founded by Ge Xuan in the late Eastern Jin Dynasty, which is active in the south of the Yangtze River. This mountain is Gezaoshan. Lingbao School and Shangqing School appeared at roughly the same time. This sect is formed by believing in and inheriting Lingbao classics. It is also named after the main biography and specialty of Lingbao Jing, and respects Yuan God as the highest god.
4. Justice School
Orthodox schools are divided into Maoshan, Lingbao, Wei Qing, Jingming and other schools, but Shi Tiandao is still the representative. Traditionally, Shitian Road is also called Justice Road. Zongtan Jiangxi Longhu Mountain. The three mountains in Fu You are Longhu Mountain, Maoshan Mountain and Ge jujube hill. Zhengyi School is one of the two major schools of Taoism in China in the later period. On the basis of the long-term development of Shi Tian Taoism and Dragon and Tiger School, it is a large school in Fu You, which is centered on Dragon and Tiger School and composed of various Taoist schools in Fu You.
5. Jing Ming School
Xu Zhenjun, one of the four famous Taoist teachers, was founded by Xu Xun. The main characteristics of pure Taoism in Xishan are loyalty to immortals and attention to secular ethics. Academics believe that Jing Ming School is a Taoist school influenced by receptive learning.
In the first year of Yuankang (29 1), the Eight Kings Rebellion broke out, and Xu Xun abandoned his official position and returned to the east, spreading filial piety with Wu Meng in Zhang Yu. It is said that there are hundreds of people in the order of Xishan, and the backbone of the order is 12. They are called twelve true gentlemen, namely, Wu Meng, Shi He, Gan Zhan,,, Zeng Heng, Xu Lie, Shi Cen,,, Lan, Zhong and so on.
During the period of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1131163), it is said that the Taoist priest of Yulong Longevity Palace in Xishan prayed for Xu Zhenjun to come to the rescue, because he was given the Flying Immortal Sutra and the Qingming Loyalty and Filial Piety Dafa. In the Yuan Dynasty, Taoist Liu Yu took "Jingming" as the name of his sect, and his main classic was The Complete Book of Jingming's Loyalty and Filial Piety, and established "Jingming's Loyalty and Filial Piety" with Xu Xun as his ancestor.
