A big problem facing many societies is the breakdown of families. The stress of modern life is so great that the risk of divorce and family breakdown increases rapidly. There are more single-parent families and abandoned children today.

Many of these children become depressed and upset, and are easily involved in bad activities. Some people steal, take drugs, run away from home and drop out of school. Their future is bleak.
