What gas is in the household gas tank?

The gas tank is liquefied petroleum gas, which is a colorless volatile liquid obtained by pressurizing, cooling and liquefying natural gas or petroleum. The main components are propane, propylene, butane and butene.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG for short) is a kind of petroleum tail gas left by petroleum in the process of refining gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil, heavy oil and other petroleum products. After a certain procedure, petroleum tail gas is recovered, pressurized and put into a pressure vessel, hence the name liquefied gas.

Its main component is liquid in the gas cylinder. Once it flows out, it will vaporize into a combustible gas about 250 times the original volume, which is easy to spread and will burn or explode when it meets an open flame. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the use of liquefied gas.

Life of gas storage tank

There are two kinds of gas tanks used by citizens. One is that the cylinder head and the bottle body are connected by screws, which is referred to as "screw bottle" for short; The other is that the cylinder cover and the bottle body are connected by electric welding, which is called "welded bottle" for short. According to the explicit provisions of the state, the safe service life of liquefied gas tanks is only 15 years, and regular inspection is required every 4 years. Since there is no permanent mark on the bottle body of "screw bottle", from September 1996, the state clearly stipulates that "screw bottle" shall not be produced again. That is, the last batch of "screw bottles" have been produced for more than 15 years and must be scrapped.

The normal service life of liquefied gas tanks is generally 15 years. Liquefied gas tanks shall be tested every four years within 12 years after leaving the factory, and must be scrapped after 15 years. Of course, some cans can't be used for various reasons, so don't let your family's safety be threatened because of your negligence.
