The customs of Eid al-Fitr:

1. On the morning of the festival, the mosques are cleaned, and in some cases banners and lanterns are hung to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, and couplets in praise of Allah are posted. Every household is cleaned, adult men bathe and purify themselves, children wash their faces, and men, women and children change into their national costumes. After about eight o'clock in the morning (in some places, the ringing of the congregational bell is taken as the starting point), people gather at the mosque to perform the congregational rites.
