Farewell to Kangqiao is a popular poem by modern poet Xu Zhimo, a representative work of the New Moon School of poetry. The whole poem takes the ups and downs of feelings when leaving Kangqiao as a clue, expressing the deep feelings of farewell to Kangqiao.

Xu Zhimo (January 15, 1897-November 19, 1931) was a modern poet and essayist. His original name was Zhang Qian, the word ritual bonfire Sam, and he changed his name to Zhimo when he was studying in England. He was a representative poet of the Crescent Moon School. He studied at Shanghai Hujiang University, Tianjin Beiyang University and Peking University.

In 1918, he went to the U.S. to study economics, and in 1921, he went to England to study political economy as a special student at Cambridge University. In Cambridge, he was y influenced by western education and European and American romanticism and aestheticism poets.

In 1923 he founded the Crescent Society, and in 1924 he became a professor at Peking University; in 1926 he became a professor at Kwanghua University, Daxia University, and Nanjing Central University (renamed Nanjing University in 1949); in 1930 he resigned from his posts in Shanghai and Nanjing, and at the invitation of Hu Shih, he became a professor at Peking University again, as well as a professor at the Peking Women's Teachers' Training University.

On November 19, 1931, she was killed in a plane crash. Her representative works include Farewell to Kangqiao and A Night in Fei Cui.
