What is a civet cat
The civet cat, also known as the brown civet cat, is a member of the cat family. They are very similar to the average domestic cat, but there are some differences. The body of a civet cat is slightly larger than that of an ordinary domestic cat, weighing between 2 and 6 kilograms and measuring 30 to 60 centimeters in length. They also have wider ears and large eyes like a pair of black beads. The civet cat's body is brown in color, usually with black spots or patterns, which gives them a very beautiful appearance. Because of their resemblance to the beloved panda, civets are sometimes called "little pandas". Civets are solitary creatures that tend to build their nests in trees. They eat mainly small mammals such as mice and birds, but also occasionally eat insects and fruit. In the wild, civet cats live about six to eight years. The civet cat is endemic to the southern region of China, and because of their wide distribution in China, the civet cat is part of Chinese culture. Civets have been mentioned in Chinese literature, paintings and traditional medicine. Even though civets are not a common pet choice, some enthusiasts see them as a special pet because they are intelligent, active and very cute. It is important to note, however, that in many places, civets are considered wild animals, so you will need to consult with the relevant legal regulations if you wish to keep a civet as a pet.
