Recently, I am reading Native China by Mr. Fei Xiaotong. Mr. Wang used the "pattern of difference order" to describe the interpersonal relationship in China traditional society. Compared with the western group pattern dominated by religion, China's rural society is based on patriarchal clan system, and the relationship between people is a network relationship with blood relationship as the main axis, which is a pattern of difference order. In this pattern, everyone has formed a self-centered network. Mr. Wang made a vivid metaphor: it's like throwing a stone into the lake, taking this stone (individual) as the center, forming ripples around it, and the distance of the ripples can indicate the distance of social relations.

Our society is still very influenced by the pattern of difference order, especially in government departments, state-owned enterprises and family businesses. It is not difficult to find that in many cases, in a unit or enterprise, the more important the position, the faster the promotion, and the closer it is to the management of the unit (enterprise). Therefore, in order to develop their own careers, we ancients often look for kinship and geographical relations, such as becoming sworn brothers, getting married, learning from the scriptures, and even changing our surnames. So, if your ability is really strong and fully recognized by everyone, but you just haven't been promoted or raised, it's because you haven't entered the management. Compared with those who are promoted and promoted, your relationship with the "number one" is far from perfect, and you are not even "his person". So, you have two choices: first, be content with the status quo; Second, through various ways to get through the relationship, close to "catch the right person."
