Introduction to Wing Chun
Wing Chun is a traditional Chinese martial art, a technique for stopping aggression, an active, streamlined system of self-defense, and a legal use of force. It is a positive, streamlined system of self-defense and legitimate use of force that focuses more on subduing the opponent as quickly as possible to minimize the damage to the person involved than other traditional Chinese martial arts. Wing Chun is a distinctive Southern boxing art based on the "center line theory", which emphasizes the use of correct concepts, awareness and thinking to derive the flexible application of the limbs; its contents mainly include "small thoughts", "finding bridges", "the bridge", "the way of the bridge", "the way of the bridge" and "the way of the bridge". Its contents mainly include "Siu Nim Tau", "Seek the Bridge" and "Marking Fingers", etc. The main forms of practice are "Chi Sau" and "Chi Kau" practiced by two persons; Auxiliary equipments include sandbags against the wall, three-star stakes, etc.; training equipments include wooden stakes, knives, sticks, etc. On November 11, 2014, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, declared the Wing Chun project as one of the fourth batch of representative items of national intangible cultural heritage.
