What is the difference between WTF and ITF? What is CTF? ?

General Cui Hongxi, the founder of Taekwondo, is from ITF. For some political reasons, General Cui was persecuted. South Korea is worried that the development of ITF Taekwondo will affect the political power, so it established WTF, which can be said to be a branch of ITF.

1959 On September 3rd, General Cui's long-awaited Korean Taekwondo Association was established (here), and he became the president. Since then, he really started the cause of popularizing Taekwondo in Korean society. Although various sects kept boycotting Taekwondo before the unified name, it did not shake General Cui's enthusiasm for popularizing Taekwondo. At that time, he once again realized that he wanted to leave the excellent skills and lofty spirit of Taekwondo to future generations. From then on, further research and improvement in the fields of basic technology and spiritual cultivation began.

1972 Due to the persecution of President park chung-hee, General Cui Hongxi had to leave North Korea and go into exile in Canada. In order to resist the development of the International Taekwondo Federation, President park chung-hee established the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) in 1973, and appointed Un-yong Kim as its chairman. On the one hand, President park chung-hee ordered the Intelligence Department to do everything possible to crack down on and persecute General Cui, on the other hand, he lured General Cui with various positions and wealth.

At present, the most recognized and accepted thing in the world is ITF Taekwondo.

As for CTF, it is better understood that C (China) is the Chinese Taekwondo Association.
