Brief introduction of She nationality's Spring Festival
During the festival, every family sticks up red, everyone wears new clothes, firecrackers explode, congratulate each other and prepare three sacrifices to worship their ancestors. People attach great importance to celebrating the Spring Festival. Since October of the lunar calendar, they have prepared glutinous rice to brew "Chinese New Year wine" and made rice cakes (rice cakes) with glutinous rice and soda ash. Eating Ciba is one of the characteristics of the She nationality in the Spring Festival. There is such a poem circulating in Shexiang that "glutinous rice is round, fragrant, sweet and sticky." In other words, making Ciba expresses the people's good wishes, hoping that spring (Ciba) will come, life will be sweet every year, and families will reunite. On New Year's Eve, people usually stay up all night. In the first half of the night, they went door to door and congratulated each other. After midnight, we light incense and set off firecrackers to welcome the New Year. At this time, the family, men, women and children gather around the campfire to have a New Year's Eve dinner, which is called "every other year". The children learn to sing "Pangu Song" while warming up, while Abba steamed glutinous rice to make sesame Ciba, and even had a wooden finger with a thick bowl mouth, which was burned in the stove. When the temperature reached a certain level, it was buried with ashes as the fire for the New Year's Day. The fire must not be put out until breakfast is ready the next day, otherwise it will be considered as an ominous sign. In the early morning of the first day of junior high school, the rooster crowed for the first time. When he was young, he opened the door and set off firecrackers, "double rings". Some of them ran outside the door, holding a bamboo castanet (the bamboo was broken in two pieces and one end was connected together) and crowed around the front room to show that they could drive away the plague and eliminate the disease.
Housewives smell firecrackers and rush to the well to "fresh water", go home and cook noodles for breakfast, wishing the whole family a safe and long life. The children ran to the bamboo forest to "shake the bamboo", thinking that shaking the bamboo would grow sturdily like bamboo shoots. On the first day of the first lunar month, we should collectively go hunting in the mountains. In the past, it was good to hold sacrifices and hunting activities. On the fifth day of the first month, parents lead their children to clean everywhere. After cleaning, the whole family drinks sugar tea and wishes for more than a year. On the eighth day of the first month, it is the day when the She people worship their ancestors Pan Hu, which belongs to the totem worship left over from primitive society. On this day, men, women and children with the same family name. Gathered in the ancestral temple for a meeting to worship the ancestors. In some villages, ancestors sacrificed in ancestral halls from the first day to the fifth day.
