Method of measuring body temperature
I. measurement of axillary temperature
Axillary temperature measurement is the most widely used and traditional body temperature measurement method. When measuring, you should first dry the sweat under your armpit, then stick the thermometer on your skin, bend your arms over your chest, put your hands on the opposite shoulder and hold them for 5 minutes. Normal body temperature is below 37.2℃. However, babies who are too young are easy to move at will, which will affect the accuracy. Overweight babies will also affect the accuracy because the fat is too thick.
Second, measure the oral temperature.
Oral temperature measurement is a convenient and accurate measurement method. When measuring the oral temperature, put the thermometer under the tongue for 5 minutes by mouth-holding method. Normal body temperature is below 37.5℃. However, the thermometer must be disinfected before use to ensure that you don't eat or drink anything that has been overheated and chilled for half an hour. However, it is not recommended to measure the oral temperature for babies who are too young, so as to avoid the danger of biting off the thermometer.
Third, measure the anal temperature.
Anal temperature measurement is more accurate because of good air tightness. Normal body temperature is below 37.5℃. However, because children are prone to crying and wriggling, thermometers are not recommended for routine use at home, and are generally limited to hospital medical workers.
Fourthly, the measurement of ear temperature.
For infants and young children, it is suggested to use ear thermometer to measure the baby's temperature at home, considering the factors such as rapidity, accuracy and safety. Before the measurement, parents gently straighten the outline of the child's ear, block all the thermometers in the external auditory canal, and then start the measurement until the measurement results are displayed. Normal body temperature is below 37.5℃. However, if the baby has ear diseases, or there are many secretions from the external auditory canal, it will affect the measurement accuracy.
Verb (abbreviation of verb) measurement of forehead temperature
The forehead temperature is mainly measured by infrared instrument. However, because the forehead body surface temperature is greatly influenced by the external environment, the accuracy is not very high, so it is not widely used. However, because of its fast measurement speed and not close contact with human body, it is often used for general survey and primary screening of human body temperature in public places to reduce the spread of diseases and epidemics.
What are the methods for measuring body temperature? Above, we introduced the commonly used methods of measuring body temperature. Whether the child has a fever or not, pay attention to the child's temperature. If we think that the child's temperature is too high, then we must accurately measure the child's temperature!
