Poultry, in ancient times, generally refers to animals such as beasts and five birds, and refers to five kinds of animals such as tigers, deer, bears, apes and birds. Drama, that is, the meaning of games and play. The so-called wuqinxi refers to a set of movements that imitate the movements of five animals: tiger, deer, bear, ape and bird.

The method of achieving fitness by imitating the movements of animals was first seen in the Warring States Period. "Zhuangzi Deliberately" has a record that "the bear is stretched out by a bird just for longevity", while "Huainanzi Spiritual Practice" in the early Han Dynasty has the saying that "the bear is stretched out by a bird, bathes a spider, and * * *, * * is seen by a tiger, and it is also a person who raises a figure", which is the name of the Five Birds Show. Hua Tuoyun said in the Book of Southern Han Dynasty: "I have one skill, which is called the Five Birds Play. One is a tiger, the other is a deer, the third is a bear, the fourth is an ape and the fifth is a bird. It is also a guide to eliminating diseases and benefiting hooves and feet. " With the passage of time, it was taught and gradually developed, forming various schools of Wuqinxi, which have been passed down to this day.

First, the mechanism of health preservation.

Wuqinxi is one of the leading technologies in ancient times, which needs the cooperation of intentional defense, interest adjustment and verb form coordination. Intention can make the spirit quiet, and calmness can cultivate the true qi; Regulating breath can promote qi and regulate meridians; Dynamic modeling can strengthen bones and muscles and facilitate joints. Because it imitates the movements of five animals, it has different parts to guard, different movements and different roles to play. Tiger play is to imitate the image of the tiger, take its breath, make good use of its claw force, shake its head and tail, and shake its whole body. It is required to keep the life gate, which is the home of Yuanyang, the sea of Jingxue, the root of vitality and the house of fire and water. Conducive to strengthening kidney and waist, strengthening bone and promoting marrow, dredging meridians, expelling wind and removing dampness; Deer play is to imitate the image of deer, take its longevity spirit, and be good at carrying the tail. The tail is where Ren and Du meridians meet. Deer play is intended to guard the tail, which can draw air from the whole body, dredge meridians, promote blood circulation and stretch bones and muscles. Bear play is to imitate the image of a bear. Bears are all thumbs, quiet outside and moving inside. It is necessary to observe the coordination of qi and blood in the middle uterus (umbilicus). When practicing bear infestation, the key point is to move inside and be quiet outside. This can calm the mind, match the spirit, permeate the true qi, and have the effect of strengthening the spleen and benefiting the stomach; Ape play imitates the image of apes, who are alert, flexible and active. Practicing this play is to practice the flexibility of limbs outside, and to restrain ideological activities inside, so as to achieve the purpose of being calm, light and healthy. Ask to stay in the navel, to move in shape and stay calm in god; Bird play, also known as crane play, imitates the image of crane and moves lightly and smoothly. To practice this play, we should pay attention to Qi Hai, which is the focus of Ren Mai and Qi Hai. Crane opera can regulate qi and blood and dredge meridians and joints. The five techniques of Wuqinxi have their own emphases, but they are a whole and a set of systematic techniques. If practiced regularly, they have the functions of nourishing spirit, regulating qi and blood, benefiting viscera, dredging meridians, exercising bones and muscles and benefiting joints. When the heart is at peace, the exuberance of qi will produce essence, and the exuberance of essence will be transformed into aerodynamic shape, so as to achieve the unity of the three elements (essence, qi and spirit), and then the effect of getting rid of diseases and strengthening the body can be obtained. As Hua Tuo said: "It is also good for removing diseases and benefiting the feet."

Second, the practice essentials

(a) the whole body to relax

When practicing, you should first relax and be optimistic. An optimistic and relaxed mood can make qi and blood flow smoothly and cheer up the spirit; Relaxing the whole body can prevent the movements from being too stiff and nervous.

(2) Breathe evenly

Breathe calmly and naturally, breathe through the abdomen, evenly and gently. When inhaling, close your mouth and gently touch the palate with the tip of your tongue. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.

(3) concentrate on observation.

We should get rid of distractions, concentrate, and concentrate our will on the intentional part according to the requirements of each play, so as to ensure that meaning and spirit go hand in hand.

(4) Natural movement

The movements of Wuqinxi are different, such as the steadiness of the bear, the lightness of the ape, the vigor of the tiger, the gentleness of the deer, the liveliness of the crane and so on. Practice should be carried out according to the characteristics of its movements, and the movements should be naturally stretched and not tightened. Please refer to TCM Fitness for details.
