Ginseng is a perennial herb, which likes to grow in the shade, and its leaves have no stomata and palisade tissue, so it can't retain water. The flowering period is from May to June, and the fruiting period is from June to September. It grows under mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests or deciduous broad-leaved forests dominated by Korean pine, and is distributed in northeast China, North Korea, South Korea, Japan and eastern Russia. Ginseng, also known as the king of Huangshen, Goblin, Shencao and Baicao, is one of the famous "Three Treasures in Northeast China".
