China traditional arts and crafts lacquerware

Daily utensils and handicrafts painted on the surfaces of various utensils are generally called lacquerware. China has been rich in raw lacquer since ancient times, and began to produce lacquerware six or seven thousand years ago. Contemporary lacquerware is mainly distributed in Beijing, Fuzhou, Fujian, Yangzhou, Jiangsu, Chengdu, Sichuan, Pingyao, Shanxi, Dafang, Guizhou and Tianshui, Gansu.

Beijing Carving Lacquer: Good at carving. The tire is painted with dozens to hundreds of layers of paint with the thickness of 15 ~ 25mm, and then carved with a knife, so it is called "Qi Diao". In ancient times, red and green were the main colors in carved lacquer products. In history books, carved lacquer was also called "picking red". At present, Qi Diao in Beijing is mainly about removing red and black.

Fuzhou bodiless lacquerware: an artistic treasure with unique national style and strong local characteristics, it is made by first molding a model with clay, then mounting a summer cloth on the outside of the model, painting it with blue paint, removing the soil model after the paint is dry, and then processing and coloring it. It can be described as a combination of beauty and extraordinary artistic charm.

Yangzhou inlaid lacquerware: It has a long history. Its products are characterized by inlaid mother-of-pearl, simple and elegant in shape, exquisite in craftsmanship, beautiful in pattern and harmonious in color.
