The Charity Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted at the 19th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC on February 27th, 20 15, and came into force on March 27th, 20 16. Therefore, with the approval of the State Council, September 5th of each year is officially designated as "China Charity Day".
