Under what law was China Charity Day established?

China Charity Day was established in accordance with the Charity Law of the People's Republic of China.

The Charity Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted at the 19th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC on February 27th, 20 15, and came into force on March 27th, 20 16. The word count of this law is only 7 chapters and 84 articles, totaling 38,800 words, but it marks that China's philanthropy has entered an era of laws to follow.

Regarding the origin of "China Charity Day", Gong Puguang, vice chairman of the Social Construction Committee of the National People's Congress and former vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, said in an interview with the media that after the adoption of the Charity Law, the Social Construction Committee of the National People's Congress believed that the law ran through the spirit of developing charity and promoting social civilization and progress, and the establishment of "China Charity Day" was in line with its legislative spirit. Therefore, with the approval of the State Council, September 5th of each year is officially designated as "China Charity Day".

Since then, "China Charity Day" has officially become an important festival in China. On this day, people participate in charitable activities in various forms, lend a helping hand to needy groups and offer love.
