Shang Yang (also known as Wei Yang and Gong Sunyang, about 395-338 BC), surnamed Ji, was a native of Wei State (now Liangzhuang Town, Neihuang County, Anyang City, Henan Province, or Puyang County, Puyang City), a descendant of the king of Wei State, a politician, reformer, thinker and representative of Legalism during the Warring States Period.
