Shouzhou gongs and drums are the drum music of the Han nationality in Shouxian County, Anhui Province, which was once the capital of Chu during the Warring States Period. Chu culture has a profound accumulation. As a wonderful flower of Chu culture, Shouzhou gongs and drums spread in Shouxian and the surrounding counties and cities of Huaihe River basin, and integrated the essence of traditional gongs and drums in Huaihe River area, such as eighteen fans, three festivals of phoenix, rabbit's barbecue nest, long flowing water, large and small twisted wires, double-stranded wires and small five fans, and adapted and developed them. In addition to the usual curtain gong, waist drum, cymbals, cymbals and hand gongs, the musical instruments used are different. The main gong used is called "steel gong", which has a clear and loud voice and a strong cultural charm in Chu and Han dynasties, and is unique in the areas along Huai River.
