Working principle: Idle motor has four working states: under the control of engine ECU, it is divided into four working states.

In the first state, the stator coil AB is energized (CD is de-energized), and the current flows from A to B. According to the electromagnetic induction rate, the direction of magnetic field is left N pole and right S pole. Because the rotor is a permanent magnet, according to the law of like repulsion and opposite attraction, the rotor will be attracted to the horizontal state by the magnetic field generated by the stator coil, and the left electrode is S and the right electrode is N.

In the second state, the stator coil CD is energized (AB is de-energized), and the current flows from C to D. At this time, the magnetic field generated by the stator coil is N pole above and S pole below. When the rotor is attracted by the magnetic field generated by the stator coil, it rotates 90 degrees clockwise from the horizontal state to the vertical state. In the third state, the stator coil AB is energized (CD is de-energized), and the current flows from B to A. At this time, the direction of the generated magnetic field is left S pole and right N pole, and the rotor will be attracted to rotate 90 degrees clockwise, from vertical state to horizontal state, with the left electrode being N and the right electrode being S.

In the fourth state, the stator coil CD is energized (AB is de-energized), and the current flows from D to C. At this time, the direction of the generated magnetic field is the upper S pole and the lower N pole, and the rotor will be attracted to rotate 90 degrees clockwise, from the horizontal state to the vertical state, with the upper electrode being N and the lower electrode being S.

Under the above four conditions, the rotor of the idle motor is driven clockwise all the time in the above order, and the valve core is gradually pushed out by the screw mechanism, so that the air intake of the engine is reduced, and then the engine speed is reduced. Similarly, if the pulse signals sent by the engine ECU are in the opposite order, that is, in order of states 4, 3, 2 and 1, the spool of the idle motor retracts and the engine idle speed increases.
