Significance of solar terms to agriculture

China is an ancient agricultural society. In the past, people used to rely on the lunar calendar, which changed every year, and the 24 solar terms appeared at the same time every year, reflecting the change information mainly based on temperature. Farming recorded according to the 24 solar terms has very appropriate guiding significance.

Due to China's large area, the same solar term has different performances in different regions and cannot be copied. At the same time, the past summary is based on rain-fed agriculture. In recent years, the changes brought by science and technology have also constantly impacted the records of ancient books.

In the Yellow River basin, the solar terms that have a prominent impact on planting are: Qingming-around Qingming, melons and beans began to be planted, which opened the curtain of spring sowing; Millennium:-sounded the horn of autumn sowing.

However, China still relies on natural conditions in a considerable part of the country, so there is a flexible proverb, "Time turns, and moisture waits for no one."
