Jiuquan is a semi-desert arid climate, characterized by dry climate, less precipitation, strong evaporation, long sunshine, large temperature difference in Leng Xia in winter, cool in autumn and windy and dusty in spring. Temperature: The highest temperature in the whole year is℃, the lowest is -3 1.6℃, and the annual average temperature is 7.9℃, with a large temperature difference between day and night. The dominant wind direction throughout the year is southwest wind, followed by east wind and northwest wind. The maximum wind speed is 26 m/s and the average wind speed is 2.3 m/s.
The southern mountainous area of Jiuquan City has a cold and semi-arid climate with an average annual temperature of 4℃ ~ 6℃, and the corridor area has a temperate arid climate with an average annual temperature of about 5℃ ~ 9℃. 1, location and area
Jiuquan City is located between Altun Mountain, Qilian Mountain and Mazong Mountain (Beishan) at the western end of Hexi Corridor in northwest Gansu Province, with a geographical location of 38 09 ′ ~ 42 48 ′ north latitude and 92 20 ′ ~ 65 438+000 20 ′ east longitude. It is adjacent to Alashan League in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the west, Haixi Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture and Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province in the south, and Zhangye City in the east.

Jiuquan City is high in the south and low in the north, tilting from southwest to northeast. Qilian Mountain in the south is a series of high mountains of 3000 ~ 5000 meters, steep and high. From east to west, it is Qilian Mountain, Taolai Mountain, Daxue Mountain, Maye Mountain, Altun Mountain, Danghe Mountain and Saishiteng Mountain.
3. Hydrology
The rivers in Jiuquan City are divided into Shule River, Heihe River and Halten River, all of which originate from the snow-covered area of Nanshan Glacier. From east to west: The tail of Heihe River enters Ding Xin from the north of Tiancheng and passes through the easternmost part of the area. The other rivers are Maying River, Guanshanhe River, Viva River, Fengle River, Hongshuiba River and Beida River in Jiuquan City, which are the main irrigation water sources.
