The origin of Qingming (story)

During the Spring and Autumn Period, Jin Wengong Zhong Er was tired and hungry in exile. He pushed the minister meson to cut the meat from his thigh and make soup for him. Zhong Er was very grateful when he learned that. When Jin Wengong Zhong Er acceded to the throne, he forgot to praise his ministers, but he didn't want to be rich and famous, and lived in seclusion in Mianshan. Zhong Er regretted it and burned Mianshan to find it. Afterwards, he found that Xie tui died under a dead tree with his mother on his back, and left his last words: "May your master always be clear."

To commemorate meson tui, Jin Wengong designated this day as Cold Food Festival. The next year, Jin Wengong climbed a mountain to pay homage, but the willow tree actually came back to life, so he named the old willow tree "Qingming Willow" and named the day after the Cold Food Festival Tomb-Sweeping Day.

The culture of Qingming etiquette and custom fully embodies the idea that the ancestors of the Chinese nation pursued the harmony of "heaven, earth and people", paid attention to conforming to the harmony between the right place and the right time and following the laws of nature. Tomb-Sweeping Day is not only a solemn festival to pay homage to ancestors, but also a happy festival for people to get close to nature, travel and enjoy the fun of spring.
