What does the solar term "entering Mei" mean?
The rainy season has begun
Also known as "entering the mold" and "entering the plum blossom". Refers to the day when the rainy season begins.
Meteorological Meiyu refers to a rainy weather that transits from early summer to midsummer. Enter the meiyu period. Different climate seasons and plum blossom periods vary from place to place. We can't rely on the plum blossoms on the calendar to guide production and life, but to listen to the plum rain forecast released by the meteorological observatory.
In Jiangnan area, the mature period of plums in late spring and early summer is called Huangmei season. During this period, it was rainy in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, and the rain in this period was called Huang Meiyu. Because of the continuous rain and humid air, clothes are easy to get moldy, and Huang Meiyu is also known as mildew rain. The start date of Huangmeitian is called "entering Mei".
