What are the planting methods of mung beans?
(1) monoculture: including monoculture, crop rotation and multiple cropping. Mung beans have short growth period and strong resistance. In some areas where the growing season is short or the sowing of other crops is delayed due to natural disasters, one-season mung beans can also obtain a certain yield. In recent years, mung beans are often rotated with cereal crops or planted between wheat and other crops, and multiple cropping is carried out in one place to improve the multiple cropping index. At present, the commonly used planting methods are wheat-mung bean, rice-mung bean, rape-mung bean, spring corn-mung bean, watermelon-mung bean and so on.
(2) Intercropping and interplanting: including intercropping, interplanting and mixed cropping. Mung beans have the characteristics of short plants and insensitivity to light and shade. They can be intercropped or mixed with crops with long stems and slow growth in the early stage, which can not only harvest more mung beans in one season, but also improve the yield of main crops. Common planting methods are mung bean-corn (sorghum), mung bean-millet, mung bean-sweet potato, mung bean-cotton, mung bean-yellow tobacco, mung bean-young fruit trees and so on.
