However, there is an independent liquor brand in Zhanjiang that is very famous and has the reputation of Guangdong Maotai, and that is Lu Mei Liquid. Lu Meijiu is a kind of liquor produced by Wuchuan Distillery in 1950s. It has a clear and transparent body, sweet aroma and sweetness. It not only combines the mellow taste of Kweichow Moutai, but also has the tradition of local brewing. The wine has received rave reviews since it was launched, and won the gold medal of 1988 China Food Expo and the gold medal of China Famous Cultural Wine Hong Kong Expo. /kloc-0 won the title of provincial quality products in 1989, and/kloc-0 won the "Gold Award" of the top ten famous wines in Guangdong Province in 1993. It can be said that Lu Mei liquor at that time was comparable to Maotai's good wine in the eyes of Zhanjiang people.

Unfortunately, in the early 1990s, Wuchuan Winery, as a state-owned system, was gradually pulled down on the road of reform and opening up. Fierce market competition and poor management led to the final closure of Wuchuan Winery, and the once famous Guangdong "Lu Mei Liquor" gradually disappeared from people's sight.
