The Location and Design of Schwarczman Scholars

Schwarczman Scholar is located in Tsinghua University Center, designed by Professor Robert A.M. Stern, Dean of Yale University School of Architecture and one of the founders of post-modern architectural style. Schwarczman scholars will become a new campus landscape in Tsinghua, blending classical tradition with modern flavor, blending oriental charm with western style, and creating the best learning and living environment for the best young students from all over the world.

In the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Su Shimin, Chairman of Tsinghua University Su Shimin Scholars Program and Chairman of Blackstone Group, Ms. Amy Stursburg, Chairman of Blackstone Foundation, and Professor Robert Stern and his party specially inspected the site selection and model structure of Su Shimin College, and discussed the next design and construction. The building will start construction at the end of 20 13 and is scheduled to be completed and put into use in 20 16.

Li Daokui, director of Su Shimin Scholar Program in Tsinghua University and a professor at Tsinghua University Institute of Economics and Management, said that the two key words of Su Shimin Scholar architecture are the combination of Chinese and Western, and the academic school.
