What are the folk customs in Qinzhou, Guangxi?
Qinzhou has colorful folk customs, such as ridge jumping, tea picking and dragon dancing. Lingtou Festival in Qinzhou is the longest, most prosperous and lively festival in a year, and there has always been a saying that "Lingtou celebrates the New Year". Every year after the autumn harvest in August and September of the lunar calendar, Qinzhou is held in turn from village to village within the scope of custom. In the village where Lingtou Festival is held, villagers slaughter cattle in partnership, and every household makes "Niuhongsheng" and "Lingtou Ranch" and holds a banquet to entertain guests. Participating in Lingtou Festival is also called "eating Lingtou". The core activity of Lingtou Festival is "jumping Lingtou" (Nuo dance). Nuo dance is an ancient folk ritual activity, that is, "jumping to the gods", which is called "jumping ghost temple" by Zhuang people and "jumping ridge head" and "jumping ghost boy" by Han people. Later, it evolved from a religious ceremony to a cultural and recreational activity integrating singing, dancing and drama. The location of "Tiaolingtou" is generally on the terraced fields under the village community tree. Performed by a relatively regular amateur team, people from nearby villages came to see it. The scene was warm and stayed up all night. Such a festival is certainly a good opportunity for young people to fall in love.
