Introduction to the compilation of traditional Peking Opera scripts

The compilation of traditional Peking Opera scripts was compiled by Beijing Institute of Art, and * * * included 499 traditional Peking Opera scripts. It is the most complete collection of traditional Peking Opera scripts so far. Most of these plays have disappeared from the stage of Peking Opera since the late 195s. As an important artistic document of Beijing Opera, this set of books not only provides rich repertoire texts and indispensable experience enlightenment for the creators and performers of Beijing Opera, but also reserves first-hand materials for Peking Opera researchers to inherit historical heritage, understand the evolution history of Beijing Opera and explore ways to revitalize Beijing Opera. This set of books is listed as one of the key books in the 11th Five-Year Plan.
