The increasing number of new trade barriers has much to do with the suppression of traditional trade barriers. The use of traditional trade barriers such as tariffs, licenses and quotas will not only be restricted by international conventions and condemned by international public opinion, but also be vulnerable to reciprocal retaliation. Therefore, there is not much room for the development of these traditional trade barriers in the future, which provides a huge room for the development of new trade barriers such as green barriers.

Matters needing attention for enterprises to deal with trade barriers

Establish an early warning mechanism to realize foreign trade protection. Pay close attention to the situation of countries and regions where Chinese enterprises mainly export, so as to keep abreast of the trends of some foreign trade barriers, issue early warning information regularly or irregularly, and establish a set of practical and effective early warning mechanisms. At present, the Ministry of Commerce of China has opened the China Trade Relief Information Network, which is very beneficial to help enterprises solve export trade frictions.

Further establish a "four-body linkage" coping mechanism. At present, China has initially formed a "four-body linkage" working mechanism of export anti-dumping and responding safeguard measures, which involves intermediary organizations such as the Ministry of Commerce, local foreign trade departments at all levels, import and export chambers of commerce and trade associations, and related enterprises.
