Brief introduction of Zigui Flower Drum Dance

Zigui Flower Drum Dance, commonly known as playing flower drums and lanterns, is an ancient Han folk dance. Originally a lantern dance, it was produced in the Ming Dynasty. During the Spring Festival Lantern Festival, there are performances such as "Lion", "Dragon Lantern" and "Colorful Lotus Boat" (there are also performances on stilts), but they are also suitable for solo performances at ordinary times, and are widely used in wedding celebrations, birthday celebrations, getting up and moving to a new house and other celebrations. The performance of Zigui Huagu Opera, especially the hall meeting, has certain procedures, including the introduction (opening gongs and drums), starting the board (playing the Hu Qin with a tap music), oral performance (lip-synching, similar to other fixed-scene poems), solo (provocative dialogue or duet), climax (singing the positive paragraph) and ending.
