Hubei Xiaoqu Qupai repertoire

Hubei Xiaoqu is rich in vocals. The commonly used vocals are Nanqutou, Nanquzhengban, Nanquwei, Tan Chundiao, Wenci Diao, Western Tune, Yinniusi, Dieqiao and Tan Wugeng.

Hubei Xiaoqu is mainly singing, and rap and rap alternate. In the early days, folk stories were sung in the form of couplets. The traditional songs of Hubei Xiaoqu are Nanqu's "Grab an Umbrella", "Qiu Jiang" and "Jump on the Pink Wall". Copy red, bid farewell, miss your lover, etc. Song Jiang killed pity and sent rice for peace. Most western operas are sung by Tian Mian Xiaoqu artists, which is the same as the western operas in Tian Mian's ancient paintings. The repertoire of Han Tan's ditty includes Qiu Jiang, Grab an Umbrella, Matchmaker Handing Cambodia and so on. The new tracks include watching Tie Niu, Lei Feng joining the army, Jiang Jie entering the mountain (the above is Han Tan ditty), catching birds (Tian Mian ditty) and so on.

Around 1930s, some artists accompanied the puppet show with Han Tan Qupai, and a number of long tracks called "Big Shelves" appeared, such as Legend of the White Snake, Qin Xuemei, Qiu Jiang, Grab an Umbrella, Double Down the Mountain and so on. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, artists from Jingzhou and Shashi also sang new songs such as "Arousing the People" and "Leaving Home to Serve the Country" in the square.

There are more than 300 traditional songs of Hubei Xiaoqu, among which 180 have been handed down. Long (big book) "Xue Dongzheng" and "Xue Dingshan's Western Expedition" can be sung for months without stopping. Generally, short songs can be performed in one night (Sunday), such as copying the red river, autumn red river, grabbing an umbrella, borrowing clothes from Su Wenbiao, and Xigong Ci.
