Is it better to buy an air conditioner with fixed frequency or inverter?

Overall, inverter would be better.

I will talk about my experience with fixed frequency and inverter air conditioners.

For my two rooms, I have purchased 1 HP fixed frequency and inverter air conditioners. The fixed-frequency one is a 3-level energy consumption, and the inverter one is a 1-level energy consumption, and the price difference is more than $500, I think, as I remember. The fixed frequency one is 2400+ and the inverter one is 2900+. Actually, I don't think it matters to me in terms of price and energy efficiency. Because fixed-frequency cheap energy consumption is high, but the price is cheap ah; inverter energy consumption is low, but the price is expensive. So, from the economic aspect, I think it is not comparable.

The key is to run from the noise aspect, I feel that the inverter is quieter. Because I'm a person who is easily woken up in my sleep, the fixed frequency air conditioner still has a current sound or a low noise of operation after pressing the mute button. When it's late at night, it still disturbs me. But the inverter air conditioner is a little noisy at first, but after the room temperature is constant, it's quiet, and I can't hear the air conditioner running anyway, and there's no current sound. So, in terms of this sleep quality needs, people like me who have requirements recommend inverter is better.
