Is the bayan accordion hard to learn?
The bayan accordion is a bit difficult to learn.
The bayan (Russian баян) is a national musical instrument of Russia. Bayan accordion has easy fingering, wide range, small size, easy to master and other characteristics, in foreign countries, especially in Europe is very prevalent.
The bayan belongs to the accordion family. It is only the traditional accordion that we call it a keyboard accordion, while the bayan is a key accordion. Figure 1 shows the difference between a bayan and a keyboard accordion in terms of visual appearance.
The keyboard of the bayan is made up of buttons arranged in a serpentine row, with each adjacent three buttons forming an isosceles triangle. This arrangement allows the Bayan to produce a wide tonal range unmatched by conventional keyboard accordions.
Instrument Generation
The name comes from a Russian virtuoso named Bayan, who at the time was known for playing the ancient accordion. The old accordion was modified numerous times to become the keyed free-bass accordion we see today, and the first keyed accordion was produced in St. Petersburg in 1905, and was named "Bayan" in his honor.
