How to distinguish carburetor from EFI

There are so many things in the car that we can hardly name them, let alone these seemingly invisible things. How to distinguish carburetor from EFI, we need to know these two things first.

How to distinguish carburetor from EFI carburetor

Carburetor is a mechanical device that mixes gasoline and air in a necessary proportion under the action of air generated by engine operation. As a precise mechanical device, carburetor realizes the atomization of gasoline with the help of the kinetic energy of inhaled airflow. Its important role in the engine can be called &; Ldquo engine; Heart and heart. The whole set of devices should include starting device, idling device, medium load device, full load device and acceleration device. The carburetor will automatically match the corresponding concentration according to the requirements of different working conditions of the engine, and output the corresponding amount of mixed gas to make the mixed gas mix evenly. The carburetor also has the function of atomizing fuel to ensure the normal operation of the machine.

How to distinguish carburetor from EFI: a brief introduction

The oil and gas in the carburetor mix at the throat. When the gas flows through the throat, a vacuum will be generated, and the gasoline vapor in the carburetor float chamber will be sucked into the intake pipe, and then the oil-gas mixture will be completed. The larger the throttle opening, the higher the airflow speed, and the clearer the inhaled fuel vapor caused by real air and throat.

The EFI car has no throat. It relies on an air flow meter or an intake pressure sensor to detect the intake air volume. Then, it determines what air-fuel ratio should be used according to the engine speed and engine load signal. Then the computer calculates how much oil should be injected according to the intake air volume (the required air-fuel ratio is, the intake air volume is, and how much oil is needed). The fuel injector directly injects the fuel into the intake pipe to complete the oil-gas mixing (of course, EFI includes single-point injection, multi-point injection, in-cylinder injection and out-of-cylinder injection, so I won't say much here, basically the same principle).

Therefore, the ignition mode and igniter form are actually not directly related to carburetor cars or EFI cars, just because the era when carburetor cars are popular happens to be the era when traditional ignition systems are popular. Later, with the use of electronic control system, the ignition system gradually became an electronic ignition system or even a microcomputer-controlled ignition system.

Traditional ignition: that is, there is a distributor and a distributor, and the ignition signal is directly generated by the camshaft-driven circuit breaker. When the contacts of the circuit breaker are not opened once, the current of the primary coil is cut off once, which will affect the high voltage of the secondary coil. This is a traditional ignition mechanism with distributor.

Then there is the electronic ignition mechanism, which removes the circuit breaker, but still relies on the camshaft to generate the driving force. Its ignition signal generator is electronic components: Hall type, magnetic induction type and photoelectric type. Simply put, in the photoelectric ignition signal generator, there is a turntable in the middle, and there is a photosensitive resistor and a light source signal on the turntable twice a year. There are several openings on the turntable (the number of openings is similar to the number of engine cylinders). Therefore, when the opening of the turntable is turned to the position of the photosensitive resistor group and the light source signal, the light source will shine on the photosensitive resistor, and the circuit connected with the photosensitive resistor will pass. When the opening is turned to the position of this group of devices, the turntable will block the light source, the resistance value of the photosensitive resistor will become infinite, and the circuit will become an open circuit. In this way, the open and non-open positions of the turntable constantly pass between the light source, the photoresistor and the circuit.

Then there is the ignition mechanism adjusted by microcomputer. The mechanism consists of sensor, electronic control unit and actuator. Its ignition signal generator is integrated in ECU (central control computer of automobile). After receiving the signal from the sensor, the electronic control unit analyzes the frequency and time of the ignition signal and sends it to the actuator, which will generate the ignition signal in the ignition coil and excite high voltage. The above is the difference between carburetor truck and EFI truck, including the difference of different ignition mechanisms. I hope it will help.
