Why is Wula Street in Jilin an ancient town that was once forgotten?

An ancient town

"Ura first, then Jilin"

The Manchu town of Wulajie was named as "the birthplace of this dynasty" by the Qing Dynasty. It is a small town with beautiful natural scenery, a long history and rich architectural heritage.

In Wulajie Town, Longtan District, Jilin City, the outline of ancient buildings against the blue sky is clearer and the sense of time is stronger. The blackened blue bricks depict the imprint of the Manchu era and declare the end of an era.

There is only one main building, a half-rebuilt wing and a broken wall more than ten meters long, and the rest of the courtyard structure no longer exists. The only main house that has been preserved to this day has also cracked in many places and the roof tiles are broken.

Shabu is the oldest of the "three schools", which was built during the Qianlong period and has a history of about 260 years. It is the private residence of Suozhu, the 13th general manager of Zhashengwula yamen in Qing Dynasty.

Turn east at the cross street in the center of Wula Street Manchu Town, which is the "Kuifu" next to the town government. Blue bricks and black tiles stand out in modern buildings, which is very conspicuous. Entering the mansion, you can find that this is a very standard binary quadrangle.

In Wulajie Manchu Town, many buildings have Manchu characteristics, and the living customs also have a strong national color. Among them, shamanism rituals and weddings are the most representative.

Wulajie special catering

There are four ways to "burn" Wulajie hot pot, Manchu seahorse (dumplings), make cakes, pineapple leaf cakes and large and small yellow rice: frying, frying, steaming and boiling. Manchu cold dishes: two-color skin jelly, fried meat, and peeled skin.
