What is the history of scrapping?

Scraping has a long history. The exact date of invention and inventor are difficult to verify. Scraping is a kind of stone-pulling therapy or collateral-pulling therapy, which has been circulated among the people for a long time and passed down from generation to generation. According to legend, when ancient humans invented fire, they found that it would be very comfortable to bake to some parts of the body when heating with fire. Later, humans found that when stones were baked and heated to stimulate the body, they could treat rheumatism and swelling (before humans lived in primitive caves, they were prone to rheumatism and swelling). Later, humans found that the stone was baked and heated, and then the abscess was punctured. Gradually, people at that time felt that hot stones could cure some diseases. This is the embryonic form of "scraping" therapy. In the bronze age, people invented metallurgical technology. With the development of metallurgical technology, iron can be smelted. Iron is finer than bian stone. At that time, people made iron into needles for modern people. With the development of acupuncture and moxibustion meridian theory, copper coins, spoons, porcelain cup lids, coins, jade articles, buttons and other blunt-edged instruments are circulated among the people, and they are repeatedly scraped on the relevant meridian parts on the skin surface until red or purple ecchymosis appears under the skin, thus achieving the methods of eliminating phlegm, eliminating evil spirits and going out to recuperate diseases. In constant practice, it is interpreted as a natural therapy-scraping health care therapy. The earliest written record of scrapping is The Effective Treatments of World Famous Doctors written by Wei Yilin, a doctor in Yuan Dynasty, in A.D. 1337. The word "stupid" evolved from "stupid". The earliest "sand" refers to a disease. Scraping makes the toxins in the body, that is, the pathological products in the body, excrete from the body, thus achieving the purpose of curing scraping syndrome. Due to many diseases, red, purple or dark blue spots similar to "sand" will appear on the scraped skin surface, and people gradually call this therapy "scraping therapy".

In Song Dynasty, Wang Pei called it "Taocaozi" in "On the Prescription of Malaria".

"The Massage Law for Protecting Red Blood" records: "The doctor refers to the skin and exerts a little force." It is often used to treat tuberculosis, that is, heatstroke caused by exogenous factors in summer or epidemic diseases of damp-heat and warm malaria, and the skin often appears extra spots, which is also called "summer therapy". After the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, the folk experience in treating tuberculosis attracted the attention of medical scientists. For example, Wei Yilin's "World Famous Doctors' Recipe" describes "stirring intestinal sand": "Heartache, cold sweat, abdominal distension, heartache, want to be called stirring intestinal sand." Another example is Yang Qingcuo's Secret Recipe of Fairy Biography Surgery, Yang Qingcuo's Criterion of Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment, Apollo's True Story of Medicine, Gong's Shou's Bao Yuan and Jing Yue Quan Shu, all of which record the understanding and treatment experience of this disease. In the Qing Dynasty, Guo Zhijia wrote the first monograph "Guasha Yuheng", which discussed the etiology, prevalence, manifestations, classification, scraping methods, tools and comprehensive treatment methods of Guasha in detail. For example, in terms of treatment, it is pointed out that "the upper and lower neck bones on the back, the ribs on the chest, and the chapped shoulders on both backs should be scraped with copper coins dipped in sesame oil. Scrape the head, forehead and legs with cotton thread or hemp thread dipped in sesame oil. The soft meat of the big belly is internal, so wipe the salt with your hands. " Since then, there has been another monograph on scrapping-Lu Leshan's Health Mirror. These two books have become the cornerstones that can make scraping a special technology. Since then, there have been more and more monographs on tuberculosis in the Qing Dynasty, reaching more than 10, and there are more records of scraping medicine in other works.
