Why is wood construction widely used?

It has been a fine historical tradition in China to adapt to local conditions, obtain materials locally, and use materials according to their needs. In most parts of ancient China, wood is easier to obtain locally than masonry, and processing is relatively easy to quickly and economically solve the problem of material supply, therefore, wood structure is widely used not only for general housing construction, but also for a variety of beams, cantilevered and arched bridges.
