When did ancient Japanese men wear high hats and flat hats?

Eboshi is a kimono black hat from heian period to modern times.

In the early days, it was made of thin silk, and later it was made of paper with black paint on the surface. People weave with hemp. Originally used by men, women (girls, geisha) who danced white later also wore Eboshi.

Ebusi was originally the costume of upper-level officials, but it spread to the people after Heian period. Since the Kamakura era, the higher the Eboshi, the higher the status level.

In medieval Japan, when samurai just came of age, they would invite some people with family ties to pay tribute to them and wear Eboshi. The man in the hat is called Ebush's relative, and the man in the hat is called Ebush's son.

There are several kinds:

Ebusi: The highest rank of Ebusi. It is cylindrical, usually used by officials or bureaucrats, and now it is a god official (minister of palace).

Folded Eboshi: in a broad sense, it is folded Eboshi. Used by soldiers and ordinary people.
