What is the structure of the mechanical arm?

At present, the mechanical arm is the most widely used automatic mechanical device in the field of robotics, and it can be seen in industrial manufacturing, medical care, entertainment services, military affairs, space exploration and other fields. Although they have different forms, they all have one common feature, that is, they can accept instructions and accurately locate a point in three-dimensional (or two-dimensional) space for operation.

According to different structural forms, robot arms can be divided into multi-joint robot arms, Cartesian robot arms, spherical robot arms, polar robot arms, cylindrical robot arms and so on.

Full-arm-shoulder prosthesis: refers to the prosthesis used by amputees who reach part of the scapula. It is more common in patients with electric burns and is considered to be severely disabled.

Upper elbow prosthesis (total arm prosthesis): refers to the prosthesis used by people whose amputation position reaches above the elbow.

Finger prosthesis: it can be single finger or multi-finger.

Lower limb prosthesis:

Above-knee prosthesis: used by thigh amputees.

Below-knee prosthesis: amputated to the lower leg.

Prosthetic foot: amputees use it on the soles of their feet.

According to function

Functional prosthesis:

Organ-free prosthesis: Like Captain Hook's hook, its function is very simple. Many upper limb prostheses use some modular kits to replace different prostheses under different conditions.

Organic functional prostheses: Most lower limb prostheses will be equipped with related knots and spring systems, and even electronic power-assisted feedback systems, while many upper limb prostheses will use steel wires and springs to achieve grasping and other actions.

Aesthetic prosthesis:

Made purely for beauty, such as artificial hands, is quite helpful for amputees to build confidence and self-esteem.

Many prosthetic assemblers are also engaged in the makeup (painting) of this kind of prosthesis.
