Construction technology of terrazzo floor

Terrazzo has a smooth floor and is a composite floor material. Terrazzo floor construction is a complex project, which mainly includes preliminary preparation, clear technological process and operation.

Phase I preparation

The preparatory work mainly includes the preparation of construction materials and the clarification of working conditions.

Clear process

Make clear the technological process: treating and wetting the base → beating ash cake, making screed → smoothing → curing → inlaying grid strips → paving cement mortar → curing trial grinding → first grinding and grouting → second grinding and grouting → third grinding and curing → waxing and polishing with oxalic acid.

Operation 1: make leveling layer.

Make leveling layer: the leveling layer shall be made of 1: 3 hard cement mortar, which shall be leveled first, then leveled with a pressure ruler according to the screed, and then leveled and compacted with a wood trowel.

Operation 2: Mesh Mosaic

Embedding of frame strips: use pure cement slurry to paint the lower part of the frame strips into a splayed angle, embed the long seat firmly, and bury the iron wire through which the copper strips pass. The spreading height of pure cement slurry is 3 ~ 5 mm lower than that of grid strip. Grille bars shall be embedded firmly, with tight joints and top surfaces on the same plane, and straightness shall be checked through lines.

Operation 3: Plastering the stone slurry surface.

Plastering stone slurry surface: Mud and stone slurry must be measured in strict accordance with the mixture ratio, and the stone slurry surface must be swept at least twice with wool, and the surface slurry should be pulled apart to check the uniformity of stone particles, and then leveled and compacted with an iron trowel until the slurry is full. It is required to flatten the ripples and remove the stones on the top surface of the frame.

Operation 4: Polishing

Polishing: Mechanical stone grinding should be used for large-scale construction, small-scale portable grinding machine can be used for grinding small areas and corners, and manual grinding can be used for local grinding when mechanical grinding is not available.
