The Story of Wang Park, the Little Hero of Anti-Japanese Resistance

Wang Park (1929-1943), also known as Wang Pu, also known as Lan Gui in his early childhood, was a male, a native of Wanxian County, Hebei Province, and a leader of anti-Japanese children's regiment. Wang Park followed his parents to join the anti-Japanese work since he was a child, and was chosen as the children's leader when he was 11 years old. He often led his young friends with red tasseled rifles, stood guard to check the road strips, sent letters to the Eighth Route Army, and carried out activities in support of the army and the families. Wang Park worked hard and studied hard. He was very strict with himself, every time he learned a new text, he had to be able to recognize, write, speak and use.

In order to deal with ghost sweeps, the militia engaged in mine warfare, and Wang Park not only learned to lay mines, but also learned to make mines. In the spring of 1943, the ghosts swept into Wang Park's hometown, and Wang Park and his townspeople hid in the mountains. One morning, the ghosts surrounded Wang Park and the townspeople.

With a list of names provided by the traitors, the devils asked the village cadres, cadres' families and military martyrs to come forward, and Wang Park and his mother, Zhang Zhuzi, stood at the front with their chests out and their heads held high. The ghosts put their knives on Wang Park's neck and forced him to tell them where the guns and ammunition of the Eighth Route Army's arsenal were hidden. Wang Park bravely pushed away the ghosts' bayonets and led the 20-odd members of the Children's League to shout: We cannot forget the Five Noes Pledge, and we will not be traitors till death do us part.

The brutal Japs opened fire on the crowd, creating another murderous tragedy, the Zaoya field tragedy. 118 innocent people fell in a pool of blood, including Wang Park, Wang Park's mother, brother and grandmother. In order to commemorate the sacrifice of the masses, the Jinchahi Border Region Government held a memorial meeting,; a awarded Wang Lin "anti-Japanese national hero" honorable title, and set up a monument.
