What is Xiangyan?

Traditional perfuming is divided into two processes. The first step is to refine perfume, which is fried, roasted, steamed and boiled to make it crisp and easy to grind. After grinding, prepare spices according to the smell and demand of incense. Early incense burning materials were mostly cut into small pieces of incense wood. Although this kind of incense is easy to burn, it is too smoky and has a single fragrance. Later, people gradually mixed spices with other spices through certain processes such as cooking and weaving to make incense with various shapes and smells. Boiling: Boiling is usually to adjust the medicinal properties of spices, remove peculiar smell and make the smell pure. When cooking, use more water or take part in spice soaking. Commonly used flavoring can be cooked with carbon juice, muddy water, good wine, etc.
