What are the pre-Qin reasoning prose
What are the Pre-Qin Reasoned Prose Writings: Zuo Zhuan, Guoyu, Zhan Guo Ce, Lunyun, Mozi, and Mengzi.
The Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods were a period of vigorous development of ancient Chinese prose, and many excellent prose writings appeared, which are the pre-Qin prose in Chinese literary history. Pre-Qin prose is divided into two kinds, historical prose and prose of the sons. The former includes historical works such as Zuozhuan, Guoyu, and Zhanguo Ce.
The latter are the essays of Confucianism, Mozi, Taoism, Law and other schools of thought, of which, such as the Analects, Mozi, Mencius, etc., is the record of the words and deeds of Kong Qiu, Mozi, Meng Ke's disciples of their teachers, Zhuangzi, Xunzi, Han Feizi and so on, for their own writings.
Ancient China was a great prose country and the first country where this style of writing appeared. Later generations of prose originated from the pre-Qin prose, and it had an extremely far-reaching influence on the development of prose in later generations.
The beginnings of ancient Chinese prose can be traced back to the Yin and Shang Dynasties, when a number of complete sentences already appeared in oracle bone inscriptions of the Shang Dynasty. The inscriptions on Western Zhou bronzes, some as long as 300 to 500 words, record the achievements of the nobles, litigation, or the reasons for reward, etc., the content of the narrative has been quite rich. These can be seen as the prototype of ancient prose.
Pre-Qin prose is the genesis of Chinese prose. It is mainly preserved in Shangshu, Chunqiu, Zuozhuan, Guoyu and Zhanguo Ce. It includes pre-Qin narrative prose such as Zuozhuan and Guoyu and pre-Qin reasoning prose such as Lunyin and Zhuangzi. In the pre-Qin period, the boundary between literature and non-literature was not yet clear.
The prose at that time could only be described as a genre opposite to rhymed prose, basically philosophical, political, ethical and historical discourses and narratives, but because of their strong literary character, they had a great impact on the development of Chinese literature, and were thus regarded as an important part of pre-Qin literature.
Historical prose is divided into chronicles, biographies, chronicles, and countries. History books are further divided into general history and interrupted history.
