China's traditional arts and crafts is a physical form of traditional culture, which is not only a form of "materialized" spiritual products, but also a kind of physical existence with spiritual factors, and is a kind of production activity evolved by human beings from the labor and production activities carried out for survival.

The result of the production activity

is not only material, but also spiritual

ness, which is the unity of both material and spiritual attributes.

Art and craft, as an important

existing form of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, has a markedly different character from that of the general plastic arts category

. As an early creation of mankind, the primitive colored pottery of the Neolithic period in China has already shown the characteristics of integrating utility and aesthetics, and possesses the inseparable

duality of material culture and spiritual culture. Those rich and varied decorative patterns are not only the expression of the creators' own feelings and ideas, but also provide the users with the objects of appreciation. Therefore, arts and crafts are more closely related to people's daily life

and more widely. It not only provides services for people's

life, but also for the beautification of people's lives, that is,

not only has a practical value, but also in the form of a physical construct

up a cultural environment, subconsciously influencing people's clothing, food, housing

walking and other wide range of life content, and on people's values, behavior

criteria, aesthetic ideals, and people's lives.

And it also has a profound impact on people's values, behavioral

guidelines, aesthetic ideals, and people's attitudes and tastes in life.

Today, characterized by information technology, in the process of creating and developing industrial

art products, we should not only pay attention to the use of arts and crafts

art as a general merchandise function, we must also pay full attention to its

cultural function, and consciously grasp the arts and crafts as a form of material culture

form to create an ideal living environment, The construction of a harmonious society has

a positive significance in reality.

One, the origin of arts and crafts

The origin of arts and crafts in China should be marked by the stone tools made by the Chinese apes (i.e., the Peking Man) 500,000 years ago

. These stone tools were made by striking stones against each other,

and were used as tools for gathering and hunting, and the period when they were used is called the "Paleolithic Age".

This period is about 10,000 years ago. In the New

Stone Age, which is about 10,000 years ago, people accumulated experience through long-term production practice

and created advanced ground stone tools. Ground stone tools are obviously sharper, less laborious and more convenient for people's

production activities than beaten stone tools, which promoted the improvement of the production level of primitive societies.

More importantly, the grinding of stone tools embodies many factors of formal beauty,

such as the shape of the shape, symmetry, proportionality, curvature, surface treatment of rounded

run, smooth, and so on, especially in the shape of the streamlined processing, and even

modern envy. At the same time, there were many polished

smooth, drilled and engraved bone products and "ornaments" made of other materials, such as pierced shells of arkshells and upper bones of the eyes of mackerel, canines of badgers or deer, drilled stone beads and gravels, and engraved bone tubes, etc. These "ornaments" were made in a way that they could be used as a kind of "jewelry," but they were also made in the same way as the "jewelry," and they were made in the same way as the bone tubes. These "ornaments" are quite elaborate.

Painted pottery is the most brilliant cultural creation of the Neolithic period, and also the most concentrated and outstanding artistic achievement of the primitive period

.
